Here’s a little bit about me and my barbering career.

So I trained in Australia as a hairdresser, where I lived for 3 years, however quickly became tired of working in fancy hair dressers with arrogant bosses.

I needed a change ! So one day I walked into a barber shop that I had often seen people queuing up out side of, and wow no lie about 15 men suddenly turned there heads to look at me as if i were lost ! After stuttering I was interested in specialising in barbering I was offered an interview out the back.. i was offered the job - if I could hack it !

Working at this barber shop changed my life , it was the most cultural, wild , scary, intimidating, fun, extreme barbershop I could and would find ! I quickly up skilled by watching/ learning and constant 12 hour days working with the best barbers I’ve ever seen.

I met famous artists (African) arranged their trips to Australia from Africa, did there food shopping made sure they had what the wanted… I bleached/ dyed/ toned there hair.. I cut there hair, I advertised clubs/ concerts and expanded his business to offering barber training to ‘hairdressers’ in Perth , which proved to be very popular.

All this while a single mum to my little Aaron, luckily my sister took on ‘mum2’ role while I lived this work work work life style and to her I’m forever grateful.

I never thought ide be able to be happy in a barber shop without my barber shop fam/ colleagues.. but I’ve learnt, the fun vibes in my barber shop are there when my client and I are listening to tunes , firing bants and cutting hair !

I love my job , i love what experiences I’ve had , I love that I now work from my own barbershop and work around my family as much as possible.
